Giving beautiful books to children makes us happy! We love it when we hear directly from our reading heroes who use our books in their reading clubs and after-school programs.

Seventeen of our South African beneficiaries received Christmas Gift boxes last year, filled to the brim with bundles of our books. Those Little Zebra books are read with teachers or volunteers – our heroes! The fold-out books are also taken home to be shared with parents and siblings. Here is heartening feedback from three of our beneficiaries:

1.Eluvukweni Church Crossroads, Cape Town, wrote:

“Dear Tamlin, we would like to thank you so much for the wonderful donation of those gorgeous booklets. The kids were so excited!”

Tamlin, our office manager, co-ordinated this wonderful project getting the Christmas Gift boxes decorated, packed and safely delivered to their destinations.

3. YoupSA is a non-profit in the De Rust area, Western Cape Province, South Africa. They run vital after-school programs on farms and in townships where young children have few opportunities for personal and educational development. Director Alexis Salaman wrote:

“We received your shipment of the Little Zebra booklets, thank you very much. The holiday gift package was heartwarming and such a good idea! The Beans 1, 2, 3 booklets will be very useful for the children in further developing their concept of numbers in a fun way.”

We know for sure that the value of reading goes way beyond the content of Little Zebra books. May 2023 offer our beneficiaries and reading heroes many more opportunities to share our vision of helping African children grow in their love for reading and their love for the Lord.

Happy 2023, everyone!

We love to hear from our reading heroes!
