No Pigs Allowed is an example of an origin story. Origin stories are special kinds of folktales that explain in a humorous way why things are the way they are. Our first story, Rabbit Makes Friends with Fire, is an origin story about why rabbits have big feet. (They got stepped on by hippo!) And No Pigs Allowed explains why pigs have flat noses. But there’s a moral to origin stories as well. And in No Pigs Allowed we learn a lesson about what happens when we try to be someone we’re not: we look as ridiculous as a pig with horns!
