The Cape Town Concert Brass will be presenting an afternoon matinee of music in aid of Little Zebra Books. The benefit concert will feature a mix of classical and modern pieces with everything from Strauss waltzes to Disney theme songs. The Concert Brass concerts are always a blast according to Little Zebra Books director, David Ker, “I love their beautiful music which is presented in such a fun way.” Hearing more than thirty horns can be a life-changing and ear-pleasing experience. And funds raised will help Little Zebra Books in its mission to share books in African languages with children in South Africa and beyond. Concert flugelhorn player James Ruthven-Smith notes, “Our band loves supporting local charities and we really believe in Little Zebra Books!” Ruthven-Smith isn’t just blowing hot air. In addition to his duties in the brass band he also serves on the Little Zebra Books governing board.
